Privacy Policy

Start Now is a private productivity and study app for people age 13 and older. This policy explains the information we use to provide the service.

Information we collect

We collect account and age-eligibility information, tasks, study material, private portfolio uploads, app preferences, device and notification identifiers, and technical diagnostics. Optional emotional check-ins help personalize the next-step experience. Focus-room audio and video are transmitted to room participants and are not recorded by Start Now.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, synchronize work, schedule reminders, operate private focus rooms, prevent abuse, provide support, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use private student content for advertising.

Students and families

The service is not intended for children under 13. A student may accept a parent or guardian invitation. A linked guardian can assign responsibilities and see their status only when sharing is enabled. Guardians do not receive raw emotional history, private study content, or portfolio files. Configured wellbeing alerts provide a limited, support-oriented summary and are not medical or emergency monitoring.

Sharing and service providers

We share only the information necessary with infrastructure providers that operate authentication, databases, private media, video rooms, notifications, diagnostics, and payments. Report evidence is available only to authorized moderators for safety review. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users.

Security and retention

Private data is protected with account-scoped access controls and encrypted transport. Portfolio storage is private. We retain information while an account is active and for limited backup, security, fraud-prevention, and legal periods after deletion.

Your choices

You can configure notifications, revoke family links, export your information, or delete your account. To request deletion outside the app, follow the account deletion instructions.
